A very popular French artist of the period, Works often appear at auction under his any pseudonyms, a prolific painter contracted to paint under his own name.  Like many artists of the time, to make extra cash painted under different names. This fine painting Cherence Ships at the port. Oil on panel, signed with the well-known pseudonym L. Dupuy. Eugene Laloue is known to have used a few pseudonyms plus his own. Dupuy being the most common of them. This artist at auction, presently doing very well overall. With a comprehensive listed history. His paintings often appear at Sotheby’s.
