Georgian oak plate back dresser
18th-century provincial oak north Wales kitchen dresser. George 11 circa 1740. Excellent original condition with original brass cup holders and original brass cupboard door knobs. Solid crafted oak throughout. As with most 18th-century furniture, it is rare to find provincial pieces without later day poor repairs different handles or signs of abuse, after all, these were made for 18th century everyday family use. With little concern for the 21st century discerning collectors of fortunately near everlasting handmade 18th-century furniture. This piece was probably made in a shed with little more than a few hand planes and chisels. 280 years ago. No veneer in ere. ! With real boards! Not glued together offcuts like today’s so-called solid furniture. And now after a little wax and check over, it’s ready for you to enjoy its charm on its journey through the next few hundred yrs.
