A fine pair of George II style armchairs with shepherd crook arms, Bold Acanthus leaf carved cabriole front legs carved rear cabriole legs also.

These fine chairs where hand made using 18th century tools and techniques in our workshops by Andrew Christie chair makers forty years ago. We have since recently purchased them back 40 years later. And looking very nice with recent upholstery. Superb condition. A rare opportunity to purchased a rare and unique pair of chairs by one of very few superior Scottish chair makers of the 20th century. Commissioned by Scottish Royal Architects Hurd Roland.

We had a period when we made several different fine pairs of Georgian Gainsburgh, and other fine armchairs of the 18th century. These are from this period when we were traditional fine cabinet and chair makers before taking over countryhomesantiques.co.uk from my Mother Pearl Christie in 1985. We made several different pairs of fine 18th century styled chairs. Some we still have images of in category (Andrew Christie chair makers) So much of our work was never photographed, so it was with great please to be able to purchase these back after 40 years, Now I can at least keep images for the grandkids to ponder and enjoy having them again for a wee while.
